FAN-PAC meets Assemblyman Nicholas Chiaravalloti (D) 31st District on the campus of Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City

FAN-PAC meets Assemblyman Nicholas Chiaravalloti (D) 31st District on the campus of Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City.

September 26th 2017 - Assemblyman Chiaravalloti is a Corridan Fellow in the Academic Affairs Department at the University.  In discussing FAN-PAC’s initiative to create a rebuttable presumption of shared physical custody of children in family court matters, Assemblyman Chiaravalloti shared an experience he had while visiting with grade school students in his district.  The Assemblyman asked the students for suggestions about new laws.  Many students came up with ideas.  One particularly intrigued Assemblyman Chiaravalloti.  It was decided the students and Assemblyman would work together on the project.  The student’s idea was borne from realizing their school did not have many of the same resources, supplies and facilities of other schools.  With this in mind the students and Assemblyman Chiaravalloti drafted A3779.  This bill authorizes the state to create a license plate ‘Put Children First’.  The proceeds from these license plates would benefit public schools throughout New Jersey.  The bill is sponsored by Assemblywoman Patricia Egan Jones (D) 5th District; Assemblywoman Angela V. McKnight (D) 31st District and Assemblywoman Annette Chaparro (D) 33rd District.
