FAN-PAC meets Senator Sandra Cunningham
Friday September 22, 2017 – New Jersey State Senator Sandra Cunningham (D-31st district) hosted representatives from FAN-PAC today at her office in Jersey City. The Democratic Senator and FAN-PAC representatives discussed legislation to create a rebuttable presumption of joint physical custody of minor children in family court matters.
Senator Cunningham is also the Executive Director of the Sandra and Glenn D. Cunningham Foundation (SGCF). SGCF is a non-profit organization created to positively impact growth and advancement of individuals in her community. SGCF provides scholarships, financial assistance and mentoring programs to highly motivated high school graduates who face challenges in accessing education opportunities.
Senator Cunningham is a longtime advocate for improving our education system in New Jersey. She understands the vital role education plays in the development of our children.
The group reviewed recently introduced Assembly Bill A1091 sponsored by Assemblyman Eric Peterson (R-23rd district). Sandra shared with FAN-PAC her experiences as a child and clearly expressed her understanding of the significant benefits our children receive by having access to the love, support and emotional guidance of both parents.
Senator Cunningham committed to reviewing the bill and to discuss it with her colleagues in Trenton. FAN-PAC appreciates the dedication to the children of New Jersey Senator Cunningham has demonstrated throughout her public and private careers. FAN-PAC anticipates the Senator’s support of this important legislation and providing her with the resources she needs to champion this effort both in her community and in Trenton.
